I was talking to some people on Zone by phone, and we thought, what if we could use points to purchase premium, it would have to be a good amount, but I just thought I'd post and see what you guys think.

good thought, but I believe the point of charging for premium memberships is to offset the expense of maintaining the site and the cost of bandwidth, etc. points dont have any monetary value.

If points the key of getting premiums the site might go down. Our $25 goes towards keeping the site up and things like. If all points just go toward preiums the admins want make money of what they invested in the site.

Another ridiculous idea, with such a lack of thought it's astounding. Pay for premium, otherwise, shut up and enjoy what you've got.

Agreed with everyone else here. I know that points might be used to draw for premium memberships, sometimes, but otherwise, they seem to be just for bragging rights.

The idea of premium memberships is to get help from members to offset some of the costs incurred by running this site. How in the world would paying in points help? It wouldn't.

Yet another lame idea for getting premium membership without paying for it.

Not only is it another lame Idea for getting premium without paying, but I'm sure one that has been suggested on several boards already, so even less imaginative than you first thought.

Woe, wait, hold the front page. I've actually just had a truly brilliant idea for getting a premium membership. Here's how it works. What you do is pay for one. And, well yes, that's about it really.

Dan.

i agree, if we didon't pay the site it would just go down, and we wouldn't have a zone.

seriously, first people want premium memberships for free, now this?

it's just not going to work

Post 10 by Q (Take my advice, I'm not using it anyhow.) on Tuesday, 03-Mar-2009 10:34:25

To Dan, what a brilliant idea you have mate?
Oy fuck, i wish I'd thought of that already.
Seriously people, if you want premium, pay for it!
It costs a shit load of money to keep this web site up day by day.

hi all. agreed with the posters here, what a lame, crazy, stupid, idiotic, dreadful idea. this topic should be closed due to it being bloody pointless! hehehe

Dan, I love your sense of humor. *Grin*

Premium only 25 not much. If you don't want pay your cheap and just have to wait until you get a free one which not gonna happen.

Post 14 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 11-Mar-2009 17:29:55

you guys $25.00 is not much for what you're getting so don't complain. After all, it could have been worse. Sure, it's nice if you win premium, but the site needs money to run all of its features and zbp etc. And for those of you who can't purchase it, maybe a friend would do it for you.

lol when premiums can get points like we can all aquire water, this idea is a little... lol

As I've said in many of the topics like this that have been posted in the past, we're only charging you $25 a year. I'm sure you could take just a little of that off your SSI check every month, to justify the payment for this site, and it would hardly kill you. J could've easily charged $5 a month for the zone, and for the features that have been given to premiums, he'd have been justified. There are community sites out there who charge a lot more and offer less features. So, as the others on this topic have said, be greatful for what you've got.

What if we used the point thing for those of us who are already premium to renew our membership? Just a thought. It can only be a one-time thing. After all, just because you earn more points than that doesn't mean you get more premiums. I think it's a good way to keep people buying premium.

Post 18 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Monday, 16-Mar-2009 15:30:14

And then how will we keep that those that already have premiums buying premiums? Points for premium will only be used in the anual premium drawings. I highly doubt we'll ever consider using points for straight up premium purchasing, because they're easier than ever to come by now.

Post 19 by Big Pawed Bear (letting his paws be his guide.) on Monday, 16-Mar-2009 15:47:48

how about this. if users suggest stupid ideas on how to get premium memberships for free, other than a legitimate drawing, those users should be blacklisted so they will never get a premium in a drawing. either pay, or shut up!
